Where is the pick up for the boat?

In the Maldives the default meeting point for all hotels and liveaboards is the airport so whether you are arriving from an international flight or transfering from another resort you will arrive and depart from the airport which is 100 metres from the port where the dhoni will transfer you to your liveaboard.

Will I be met when I arrive?

You will be met off your flight or resort transfer as per your details you provide to us at the time of booking your trip and returned to the airport at the end of your liveaboard.

Can I buy a local phone card?

phone cards are available for sale at the airport. They are gprs enabled so you can pick your email on your phone nearly anywhere on the trip at very reasonable rates. Please make sure you tell you guest rep that you want one before you leave the airport.

What time will we arrive at the boat?

The boat stays in Male for the first day so dependant on what time you land and we transfer you to the boat

Blue - itineraries

Specific itineraries depend on the time of year and the prevailing currents at that time of the year. diving in the Maldives is year round.

Best of the Maldives.

1 week: - 6 days of diving.

SATURDAY (arrival day) – if all the guests of the week (so not only these specific guests) arrive in the morning there could be a check dive in North Male atoll (Kurumba House Reef), otherwise with arrivals in the afternoon or evening the first check dive will be the morning after

SUNDAY – possible check-dive (or second dive of the week, see above note) in North Male atoll (Lankan Paradise) – cross to South Male atoll - second dive of the day in South Male atoll (Kandooma Thila) – cross to Felidhoo atoll – possible sand bank in the afternoon (Alimath sandbank) – third dive in Felidhoo atoll (Alimatha Jetty, night dive with sharks)

MONDAY – first dive in Felidhoo atoll (Myaru Kandu) – cross to Ari atoll, South part – second and third dive in Ari atoll (Five Rocks and Kuda Rah Thila) – possible sunset fishing with diving

TUESDAY (Ari atoll, from South part to central part) – 3 dives (Kudi Maa “wreck”, Sun Island Beyru, Rhaddhigga Thila) – search of the Whale Shark in the late morning - possible desert island (Raddhigga) after the 3 dives for the end of afternoon and sunset and possible BBQ party on the island (weather permitting) – island cost around 5 USD per person.

WEDNESDAY – (Ari atoll, from central part to North-West part) – 3 dives (Moofushi corner 1, Moofushi corner 2, Fesdhoo “wreck”) + possible extra night dive (Fesdhoo Lagoon, payment onboard depending by number of participants) searching for the manta rays.

THURSDAY – (Ari atoll, central North part) – 3 dives (Fish Head 1, Fish Head 2, Maayathila) + possible extra night dive (Maayathila “by night”, payment onboard depending by number of participants) – possible nice desert island in the morning (and in the early afternoon).

FRIDAY (number of dives * will depend by the flight time of guests on the day after as we have to consider 24 hours “no fly” before departure – please remember that check-out time from the boat the day after will be in any case at around 7.30) – first dive in Ari atoll, North – East side (Bathala Maga Kan thila) – cross to South Male atoll – second dive, if any * (Lagoona caves) – cross to North Male atoll – third dive, if any * (to be defined).

SATURDAY (departure day) – check-out to the airport at around 7.30

Magnificent 7 atolls

The sunny high way to the Southern part of Maldives touch seven atolls from North Male to Laamu.

This trip dive kind is mainly focus on channel dives, clear water and “ big stuff” as white tip sharks, grey reef sharks, eagle rays, barracuda, tuna, napoleon wrasse and the magical night encounter with the gentle giant whale shark.

During the cruising we will touch deserted islands with virgin lagoons and beautiful untouched reefs. Due to the small amount of touristic resort and safari boats, these waters are really fishy, and often groups of bottle nose dolphin come play in front of the boat prow.

The large marine life, in the typical dry season clear water, guarantees unforgettable underwater meetings and charged-up dives.

Wild Deep South

In Maldives all the dives site that have “kandu” in the name are channel dives. That means clear water, dive on the ocean edge to meet a big amount of grey reef sharks, tuna, jack fish and sometime dolphins and sail fish. In deep south some of them host a big amount of green turtles (Kooddo Kandu, Vilingili Kandu partucularly); some of them has great coral gardens (such as Kureddoo Kandu, Kondei Kandu).

Outside of the island of Genemanafushi we have good chance to meet large group of Hammerheads Sharks, diving in the blue, drifting long an oceanic reef. Southern than Huvadhoo, if the ocean condition are good, we can go to the ultimate Maldivian dive destination, Fommulah. This atoll is made by only one island in the middle of the Indian ocean: here, thanks to the oceanic current, we have great chances to meet tiger sharks and thresher sharks. We can spend here just one full day and make 3 dives, because there isn’t a place for night anchorage: not so uncommon to meet here oceanic mantas or whale sharks. More than one night we will try to attract whale shark behind the boat with a powerful light. Thanks to the many desert islands, we will do the barbecue on the beach in a very beautiful location, need just to pic-up an island!

For your flight arrival times ideally you should aim to arrive around midday on the day of departure as due to a same day turn around of the boat the guests from the trip before will be departing in the morning. The rest of the morning the boat will be being cleaned and prepared for your arrival around lunchtime. You can arrive on the day of departure as late as 10pm as the boat will not leave the Male area on the first day. Whatever time you arrive on the day of departure you will be met off your flight at the arrivals area by our boat representatives and taken to the boat, about 10 minutes from the airport.

If you would like to arrive the day before it is possible to stay in the airport hotel which is on the adjacent island (HulhulMale) as the airport (Hulhule island) or stay in another guesthouse on Hulhulemale Island for the night, we don’t recommend booking somewhere in Male as this involves a ferry ride to the next island. If you stay on Hulhulemale island your hotel will then deliver you back to the airport the following day (the day of departure) where you will be met by the boats representatives and taken directly to the ship. Please check with your hotel / guest house if this is a free transfer as some of them charge for this service. Planes do not fly late into the night so you will be able to sleep.
