Why you should choose Bajau Liveaboard:
Custom designed Adventure snorkel cruises made specifically for non-divers to explore the stunning Indonesian Archipelago whilst also making good use of solar powered electricity when possible so creating little generator use (less noise), perfect for family or friends but equally happy accepting solo travellers or couples to discover the best of Indonesia

Embarking on Bajau will be a journey in itself.
Far from the clichés of eco-tourism, it invites low-impact travelers to explore the stunning Indonesian Archipelago.

Bajau is 90% identical to Bugis (her sister ship), with the primary difference being the cabin setup and a larger dive room.
Equipped with four spacious cabins, Bajau accommodates up to 8-10 guests, making it perfect for small groups of friends or families.
The serene atmosphere on board is enhanced by solar-powered energy, and allows to take full advantage of a peaceful and silent anchorage, while reducing our ecological footprint.
The living space has been conceived in an "Open" concept, enabling a panoramic view of the environment and creating the optimal atmosphere for conviviality, pleasure and parties on board.

Rather than adhering to a fixed meal plan, each day's ingredients are carefully selected from the nearest local market, ensuring the freshest and most flavorful dishes.
Imported meats are absent from the menu, making way for a true farm-to-table experience at sea.
Guests can indulge in a delightful fusion of Indonesian and Western cuisine, expertly crafted by a professionally trained local chef. Every meal is designed to tantalize all five senses, transforming dining into an immersive culinary journey.

Luxury and comfort take center stage aboard, with thoughtfully designed social areas offering panoramic ocean vistas.
The main deck features a generous 30-square-meter shaded, open-air lounge and dining space—perfect for enjoying drinks, savoring meals, playing board games, or simply unwinding.
For those seeking a more elevated experience, the upper deck boasts a semi-covered large area, complete with a bar and an open space ideal for yoga, sunbathing, stargazing, or even hosting an intimate party under the stars.

Environmental consciousness is at the heart of this floating retreat.
Solar power is harnessed whenever possible, minimizing reliance on generators and reducing both noise pollution and carbon footprint.
With the generator used only when necessary, guests can expect peaceful sunset cocktails, uninterrupted ocean views, and nights filled with the soothing sounds of waves against the hull.

Accommodations also reflect a commitment to sustainability and comfort. Unlike traditional below-deck cabins, all four guest cabins are located on the main deck, where the natural sea breeze keeps temperatures approximately three degrees Celsius cooler than on land.
Open-air architecture enhances the connection to nature, avoiding the need for artificial cooling.
Air conditioning, while often associated with luxury, requires refrigerant gases and additional fuel consumption—both of which contradict the vessel’s eco-friendly philosophy.
Instead, the design embraces natural ventilation, allowing guests to enjoy the tropics as they were meant to be experienced: with open doors, fresh sea air, and an effortless connection to the elements.

A holiday aboard Bajau promises a series of fun-filled days, where you can set your own pace and immerse yourself in the maritime environment.
From snorkeling and diving (on full charters) to kayaking and paddleboarding, from swimming in crystal-clear waters to beachcombing along untouched shores, there is no shortage of activities to enjoy.

Beyond the water, the boat provides a rare opportunity to reach remote islands that would otherwise take days to access.
Shore excursions include village visits, hiking, trekking, and cultural experiences, all designed in the spirit of slow travel.

At its core, slow travel is about connection—something Bajau’s cruises emphasize above all else.
Whether forging bonds with local communities, immersing in nature, or embracing a sense of inner peace away from the rush of modern life, each journey is an invitation to slow down and savor the experience.

Every detail of the boat, its itineraries, activities, and destinations has been carefully curated to offer the ultimate slow travel adventure—one filled with exploration, discovery, and unforgettable moments.

Activities

Snorkeling
Over 90% of the marine life that inhabit coral reefs can be seen within 4 meters below the surface of the ocean.
This means that snorkelers can enjoy Indonesia’s world-renowned marine biodiversity without the hassle of putting on scuba gear.

You will be amazed to see how easy it is to see the rich diversity of reef fish and corals and occasionally the larger pelagic species such as manta rays, large trevally and even whale sharks (in specific locations), a truly unique experience.
This kaleidoscopic world never disappoints and even exceeds anyone’s expectations.
Not surprisingly, snorkeling will be one of our major activities.

Village Visits
Lovely people, diverse cultures, fascinating stories, every village has a special character of its own, waiting to be discovered.
Our village visits would normally take place in the morning, sometimes early morning if we need to stock up on fresh produce in the local market.

Sights and sounds in the villages are many: we will often stop to visit the local school, walk the streets to witness the daily activities of the inhabitants, and generally immerse ourselves in their so different way of life.
Sometimes late afternoon, we’ll engage the locals in a match of football or volleyball.

Sometimes we’ll come across such spectacular sceneries that we’ll organize some hiking to enjoy the area. It will be particularly true when we visit national parks or nature reserves, but also on volcanos, into rain forest or simply through cultivated fields close to villages.

On more important island, we sometimes rent a local vehicle to tour the place and visit its most interesting sites.

Photography
Indonesia is a dream country for photographers. Locals are friendly and would love to be photographed.

Village life will probably be the main focus of your photographic work.
These places here are so different from what you are accustomed to, that you will fine opportunities at every corner: a life scene here, an interesting face there, a traditional and colorful event a bit further.

Then, there is nature: pristine, inviting, the territory is magnificent and there can be no doubt that you will fall in love.

Scuba diving is not our main focus, but we provide the necessary equipment onboard and experienced dive masters to guide you.
One of our founders has over 20 years of experience as the cruise director of a number of dive liveaboard boats in Indonesia, and his expertise in diving safety as well as the dive sites in Indonesia will ensure that you will be in good hands.
Note that diving is available only when chartering the boat.

The Beach
Let’s face it, we’ll spend quite a bit of time on beaches.
Always, we’ll be alone to enjoy the sun or the shade of the swaying palm trees.

Relax under a coconut tree, sunbathe while reading, or doze off with the sound of crashing waves to lull you to sleep.

You want more action?..
Grab one of our kayaks or stand up paddle boards, or even a yoga mat! Feel like checking out underwater life? Let us know and we will bring you the necessary snorkeling equipment.

Then at sunset, sometimes at midday, we will set up a barbecue. Delicious food, great conversations, cold beers, fresh cocktails, and an amazing sunset to end the day. What else can you ask for? activity beach

Other Slow Travel Activities
Yoga & meditiation
Our spacious open space upper deck can be transformed into a cozy and sizeable shala on any sunny day. Grab your mat, breathe in, and get moving at your pace.

Kayak and Stand up paddle boarding
Put down your phones and cameras, grab one of our kayaks or stand-up paddleboards and experience magical moments in the midst of nature with no other tourists around you.
There’s nothing quite like having a vast sea to yourself or sharing it with your favorite people with no one else around.
Our kayaks and paddleboards are perfect for that, and to get some exercise in!

Hiking
Whenever we find a good spot with spectacular views, we will offer the option to leisurely hike through nature and explore new islands.
