Carpe Vita, the new upgraded sistership of the Carpe Diem and the middle addition to the Explorer Ventures Fleet, is accompanied by a specially designed new 61 foot diving dhoni (diving tender) to meet the needs and comfort of the divers today.
Carpe Vita will be a more luxurious version of the Carpe Diem offering itineraries with 3 dives a day and Free Nitrox to qualified divers.

38 meters in length and catering for a maximum of 20 people over 10 cabins divided over 3 decks Carpe Vita provides plenty of space for everyone.
The different cabin types are Suite (2), Superior (2) and standard (6). All cabins have individually controlled AC, safety deposit boxes and their own private bathroom with toilet and hot water shower.

Carpe Vita itineraries are designed to take advantage of the changing conditions and to take divers to the best diving areas for the different seasons.
The visibility is usually at its peak in December/January and Mantas can be seen throughout the year with the best feeding-station encounters typically during the May-November time frame.
Whale sharks are also seen most every month of the year, with the highest concentration seen in the monsoon transition months of April-May and October-November.
The water temperatures remain a toasty 28C (80-85º) throughout the year and most divers are comfortable with a 3mm wetsuit.

Prices are per person per trip and based on 2 persons sharing a cabin.
Exact pricing is available on the schedule here as prices vary dependant on the time of year, destination and the length of the trip and sometimes special offers are available.

The trip price includes:
Maldivian GST + 10% Service charge
Accommodation in air conditioned cabins with ensuite shower toilet, toiletries, towels and beach towels.

Diving equipment is free of charge for Dsd, scuba diver, Scuba diver upgrade and OW course during the course period.

Booking Payment and Cancellation Terms and Conditions.
Booking deposit: 30% of your invoice total is required within 7 days of booking to confirm your booking.
Final payment of 70% is due to 90 days prior to the departure date to complete your invoice payment.
Individual bookings made less than 90 days before the departure date will be payable in full upon booking to confirm your booking.
Cancellation at any stage involves forfeit of monies already paid.
Payment can be made via Credit or Debit card (Visa, AMEX, Mastercard), Revolut pay, Wise, Bank transfer or Apple and Google pay at no extra charge.

Carpe Vita has 10 comfortable cabins of different standards divided over 3 decks.
The different cabin types are 2 suites on the Upper deck, 2 superior cabins on the main deck and 6 standard cabins on the lower deck.

Lower Deck Standard Cabin
The Standard cabins are located on the lower deck below the main deck.
All cabins have one queen size bed and a super single bed, desk/chair, dresser, private ensuite bathrooms with showers.
All standard cabins have portholes.

Main Deck Superior Cabin
The two superior cabins, located on the main deck, have king size beds which can be separated in two super single beds and desk/chair/dresser, hanging closet, large windows, private ensuite bathroom and shower cubicle.

Upper Deck Suite
The very spacious suites, No 1 and No 2, have king size (California) beds which can be separated in two super single beds (39 inches), a wide flat screen TV plus DVD/HD player, desk/chair/dresser, two hanging closets, windows throughout the side of the cabin, bathroom with dual sink and separate shower cubicle.

Carpe Liveaboards require minimum of Advanced open water certification OR an Open water certification (OW) with 100 looged dives to be able to join ALL the dives offered during a trip.
Nitrox certification with the multiple dives per day they offer is also highly recommended as well, but can be done on board as well in case you do not have it yet.
If you do not have an Advanced certificate and less than 100 logged dives you can take the Advanced open water course on board also.

The dive instructor on board is responsible for everyone’s safety and can ask people to sit a certain dive out if he thinks you are not experienced enough for it.
On the special South routings with lots of current, they require a minimum of 100 dives experience and experience with currents.
Carpe uses a diving dhoni built by the same company as the Carpe itself with the best facilities, including hot water shower/ toilet, 2 fresh water showers at the back and a fresh water tank for cameras.
All the diving equipment will be installed on the dhoni, giving more space to the Carpe itself plus enhanced safety.
Additional benefits will be fast and safe transfers to the dive sites and extra comfort for putting on your gear.
Nitrox (EANx) breathing mixtures are available and prepared with the best quality equipment available on the market (Nuvair ® Membranes, Coltrisub and a Bauer Compressors);
Included also is the Carpe snack bar.

Arrival and departure questions and answers..
What is the ideal check in time ? - 2pm but they can be slightly flexible to arrive later in the day but you may miss the first check dive.
What is the earliest check in time ? - 2pm due to the boat being cleaned and re-supplied.
If you arrive really early the rep will be able to give you some options on things to do or places to eat or where to get a day room until boarding time
What is the latest check in time ? - Any time on the day of departure
Where are you met on the day of boarding ? - The Carpe Maldives representative will be at the airport after the customs area.
They'll be easy to spot in their Carpe Liveaboards Cruises crew shirt, holding a sign with their logo to warmly greet you. If, by chance, you can't locate them, contact them @ +9607950883 or head to the Carpe Maldives counter, D17, in the arrival hall.
Is there a check out dive on the boarding day or it is the following morning ? - Usually yes on the day of arrival if all guests arrive by 2pm but Deep South or Southern shark trips could be next day due to the arrival times of domestic flights of the guests
What time does diving end on the day before check out (how many dives on the last day) ? - 1 or 2 dives ending before lunch
What time is check out on the last day ? - 8am
